June 2022 news

This month we are extremely pleased to announce that Katie is now a fully qualified Montessori teacher and Jenny has completed her level 3 in SENCo. Jenny is now taking on the special needs responsibilities at Little Cakes. Also, all the staff had a first aid referesher session.

The children have started sports day practice (our first big sports day for a couple of years with the baby room also joining us!) We are really excited to have you all join us for this event on 5th July, if you can make it. We will be holding our annual end-of-term picnic on this day too.

This term also saw the return of our annual school trip! This time we went along to Odds Farm Park. The children had lots of fun petting rabbits, feeding the barn animals, going on a tractor ride and playing outdoors. Thank you to all the parents that came along to make the whole experience really easy.

The preschool room have been learning about different parts of Europe. We have had some exciting visitors from Mr Pardy's father who introduced us to a range of instruments from the Saxophone to the Flute (Belgium Week); Cyrus's mother came along to teach us some German songs; a friend of mine Alina came along from Romania to make a vegetable stew with the children. We have tasted, discussed, sang and learnt lots of different facts about each of these countries and the staff have all learnt something new each week!

This term we are also following the lifecycle of a butterfly and frog. We have some caterpillars in both rooms and I think the babies will get to experience the changes very soon and hopefully be able to hold and release the butterflies! Thank you to Annabel's parents for donating a few tadpoles, we will be releasing them back into the pond so they can finish their journey to become frogs!

And finally a message for all of you mums that own small businesses out there. We want to add a page on the Little Cakes website to help you spread the word about your business. Please check your emails for further details or email veena@pushgroup.co.uk for more information.
